Chris Wilhoite teaches SSRIs and sexual side effects to IAPST
Chris Wilhoite will be teaching the August Virtual Colloquium for the International Association of Psychosexual Therapists: Mood, Meds, and the Missing Spark: A Neurochemical Perspective. Her perspective looks at the intersection of biology, psychopharmacology, and sexuality in both the bedroom and the treatment room. She joins a distinguished cohort of presenters including Judi Keshet-Orr, Dr Peggy Kleinplatz, Dr David Ribner, Dr Caleb Jacobson, and LaTanya Jones.
The IAPST Virtual Colloquium is a valued, free IAPST member benefit, takes place monthly on the third Wednesday and offers a unique space for in-depth learning and professional connection. Each session features expert guest speakers, discussions on recent research, and insightful case studies to keep you at the forefront of psychosexual therapy. Members who attend receive 1 Continuing Education (CE) credit per session, supporting ongoing certification and licensure requirements.
Chris is an extensively-trained sex therapist and couples counselor focusing on personal growth with executives and professionals. She is a Certified Psychosexual Therapist with the International Association of Psychosexual Therapists and an AAMFT Clinical Fellow and Approved Supervisor in training. In 2025 she presented research findings on sexual side effects of psychotropic medications at the International Symposium on Sex Therapy (ISST) in Croatia. Chris presented research on the role of body image and sexual shame in women’s sexual dysfunction at the 2024 ISST.
Chris and I invite you to join IAPST for engaging conversations that inspire growth and enhance clinical practice.
